Did nothing yesterday!

Played through Windy Nights by Rudolf Forst. Also entering it into Finale.

It took me two  h o u r s  to put finger markings in my song in Finale.

Prelude 3 - Even practicing this at 44, I knew less than I did yesterday. What is it about these particular measures?

Looking Glass River - Learned 2 more measures.

Prelude 5  - Was losing concentration after working on LGR so decided to quit instead of waste time.

I Finaled LGR and I realize the ending is going to take a LOT of practice.

Going to try to do voice leading with the "melodies" I've been counterpointing, maybe.

It took over 20 minutes to get music spaced properly in Finale. It was a case of "select this before you perform this action, but we're not going to tell you what you have selected".

Lower goal tempo for P3 to something like 152.

Worked on p2 of P1 in Audacity.  I may have some useable portions, but that opinion changes every time I listen to it.

Recorded 1st track, played 2nd track with it - need to see if I can print out individual parts as the page turns are inconvenient.

Editing two versions of Flood.

Put in pedal markings.
Practice trouble spots and page turns.
Record the multi-part in separate files.

Have I mentioned lately I hate Finale? I printed out some music and noticed some of the notes were wrong. I went back in a fixed the notes (Finale helpfully respaced the notes as soon as I changed them so there was one measure per LINE) and now Finale will not print this file. It will print other files, just not this one. I have shut down and restarted and still nothing. Urgh!

Got sucked down the Finale hole again - And why is my computer playing Sean Penn?!? - so didn't really practice today. Spent most of my time trying to figure out if the scale I'm listening to is really chromatic. I don't think it is, but at the same time it really sounds like it. So I'm trying to figure it out with math, without actually using math, which is probably why it's taking me so long.

I'm really concerned about my recording guy - shoulder issues in both shoulders. Send positive healing thoughts his way, please, dear readers.

Played C Maj Sonata and tried Prelude 1. I actually still sort of have that in my fingers.

Finale did a surprisingly good job of recognizing the Bortniansky, although scanning it and saving as a .tif worked better than scanning it directly in as that didn't work at all.

Now to see if it will transpose it to anything recognizable in C♭.

Wore myself out being OUTSIDE. Finally, summer seems to be here. Short practice of Sonata in C Maj.

Need to:
-analyze it
-figure out how to play f and f♯ at the same time. Transpose it down 1/2 step? That would be B♯/C♭ major. Oy. Actually, C♭ would be just fine - I think that's what Salzedo did with Chaconne by Durand. Except that part is in C minor. Oy again. C♭ minor? What key signature would that even be? Need to analyze it, definitely.

ETA -and scan it in to Finale and clean it up because it looks like it was engraved on a sandy beach during an earthquake.

If finale had a neck, I would throttle it.

Worked ½ hour on scales. (flight)

Worked more on Notturno/Finale. Whoa. Finale has a slick cross staff plug-in. I guess I don't really know what plug-ins are. A different form of macros?

Transcribing Notturno into Finale. What a program. Tried "locking" the measures to two per line, but nooOOOooo, apparently that means the measures can still move around to whatever configuration they want. And who edited the tutorials, if anyone? Hello? It's disturbing I'm able to find the mistakes in the manual and I haven't even learned the program.

Need to work on moving the G pedal in general. Use the ball of your foot and aim laterally.

Finale is annoying me. Actually, my brain's lack of retaining the ability to use it is annoying me.

More measures learned, but difficult w/o pedal markings. Taking time to re-re-learn Finale so I can get the music in readable/playable format.

Ok, all the measures have repeating 2,3,4 fingers for the rest of the chords in the measures. Repetition and patterns, oi.

Finally scanned music into Finale. It only recognized the first page, and what it did recognize is complete and utter crap. Thanks, Finale, I needed a good laugh.
